Always keep your faith strong; after all it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.

                                 OUR MESSAGE TO THE WORLD!!!

One of the highlights of our mission is to attend "transfer" meetings every six weeks. Never a dry eye in the place! (Transfer meetings are when new missionaries are welcomed, departing missionaries given their farewell, and changes in assignments and areas are made.)  (Be sure and listen to the rendition led by the male chorister.)

Well, I guess I've learned a good lesson in humility as last night Sister Center finally convinced me to quit wearing my missionary badge on my pajamas when I go to bed!!!

Tacoma=clam chowder heaven.  No matter where you dine, all the clam chowder in this city is indescribably delicious!

June 17th—Today all the missionaries in our zone, about 60 Elders, 20 Sisters, and six senior couples traveled into the woods of the Kitsap Peninsula to “Zion’s Camp”, a large rustic area with cabins, obstacle sites, and a beautiful lake.  In the am they broke into groups and spent time rotating from one obstacle site to another.  They had a blast.  Then the senior missionaries fixed and served them a nice lunch and after that they all changed into their nice clothes and had a training/ testimony session.

If you want to feel The Spirit “WATAC” style (Washington Tacoma Mission),  just listen to the missionaries rendition of their theme songs “Called To Serve” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” at meetings like this.  Standing, the powerful enthusiasm of the former is punctuated by their equally rousing, accompanying gestures.  With the latter, the Sisters and the Elders sing their separate versions of the chorus near-simultaneously.   Then the last verse is sung more slowly and softly acapella style ending with the roaring chorus that, no doubt has the devil and his minions quaking in fear.

A great day!

As Coleridge put it "water, water, everywhere."  There are dozens of bays and inlets around here coming from Puget Sound and, of course, the Sound flows in from the Pacific Ocean so obviously seafood is on every menu in all the restaurants.  But come on now: octopus tacos, drunken clams, and gonads of sea urchins?   Please just give this 'ole New York boy a good thick sirloin--medium well!

Those soda pop cakes are terrific!  So moist & yummy.  The YSA's fought over who would get second, or was it third, helpings.  And flavor-wise, your imagination is the only limit.  Sister Center did an orange soda with a french vanilla cake mix.  Now, I'm lobbying for her to do a cherry chip cake mix and Dr. Pepper Cherry Cola.

Are Senior Sister Missionaries suppose to look this pretty?
